Swirls
Ruth and I spent an enjoyable morning at the Botanic Gardens experimenting with our cameras.
This is the little stream running through the "rainforest". The orange patterns do not appear to swirl about, probably because the water is flowing at a slow, gentle pace. Very strange and very pretty.

I snapped this Water Dragon at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra this afternoon. There are several that live near the pond below the the cafe.

Mark Carmody promised on ABC television's weather forecast that Sofie would have perfect weather for her wedding to Steve, and to his credit he delivered.
There were loads of great features to this wedding .. a beautifully turned out bridal party, cool cars, a classy reception venue and loads of champers. Everyone had a great day.

Blue Wren
I had a great holiday last week on a Murray River house boat. The bird life on the river was amazing.

Photographing babies is lots of fun - as long as you remember that the baby is in charge of scheduling.
You have to adjust your shots to whatever mood baby is in. You will not get nice shots if the baby is hungry or needs a change so you have to take a break to allow until baby is feeling contented.

I'd hoped to get some snow shots at Tidbinbilla, but the snow was too high to reach in the few hours I had available to me.

Skeletal Leaf
I had a great morning taking shots out at Tidbinbilla yesterday. The light shining through the skeletons of these leaves was delightful.

Another Rail Bridge
Once again the repeating pattern made by the supports of this rail bridge give the shot a pleasing symmetry. The narrow depth of field and the frame formed by the outermost supports both draw the eye into the shot.

Stony Creek Rail Bridge
This wonderful old railway bridge is near Nowa Nowa on the railway line that has been transformed into a bicycle track. Unfortunately the bike track goes around the bridge rather than over it - although maybe that's a good thing given the lack of railings.
It's hard to take a bad shot of a feature like this. The repeating patterns made by the trestles look good from just about any vantage point.
